What is a Precinct Committeeperson (PC)?
Being a PC is one of the most important and rewarding roles in our party. As a PC, you are on the front lines of winning elections up and down the ballot.
PCs serve as the primary point of contact for voters in their neighborhoods and act as a bridge between residents and the Democratic Party. You also have a formal vote in township and county party conventions to select Democratic leadership.
There are 24 precincts in Lockport Township, each representing a neighborhood.
See a map of the precincts HERE.
You can also see the full list of current Precinct Committeepersons HERE.
How do I become a PC?
You can be elected to a two-year term as a PC by your neighbors in the Democratic primary in even-numbered years. To do so, you must file to run with the Will County Clerkâs Office.
If you miss the election and a precinct does not currently have a PC, our LTDO Chair can appoint you.
